Projectplace – Managing People Using Values – Part 2

Right now I’m reading a book about Lean, Agile, Scrum, XP. It struck me how much the ideas in these book are similar to working with value based leadership.

One of the similarities is change. The basis is that in a world that constantly changes we have to be able to adapt quickly.

In order to adapt quickly we have to decentralise desicion making. Otherwise this becomes a bottle neck.

Because desicions are decentralised, information needs to flow freely. The role of the leader becomes very much to inspire, communicate and remove obstacles.

In order to ensure that everyone pulls in the same direction we use our goal and values to guide us rather than control and hierarchy.
